Collaborations
[edit]
ADS/ABS
- Worked to develop the interface that will be used to link up the ADS-ABS database with comPADRE. Having this ready and working on PER-Central and Astronomy Central is a goal for Seattle.
[edit]
NSBP
- Communicated with the NSBP Technical side and gave them additional information on what we'll need for transparent login between the NSBP and comPADRE. This will be the technical model we use for integration with the AAPT (and AAS) as well.
[edit]
SERC
- Discussed technical side of alerting users that materials developed with SERC exist for a resource.
- Requested help from editors to create more ComPADRE-related examples for SERC.

PER-Central
- The Journal of Research in Science Teaching has recently come online in September. We have a tagger going through all of the items (130+ in PER-Central) to link to the online articles. Previously they had been listed as non-digital.
- 5+ more PER programs have registered on PER-Central this week.
- Elizabeth has nearly completed cataloging the 100+ new articles we imported. Vince will be approving them into the collection soon.
[edit]
Physics Source
- We had discussions with Taha regarding design and a preliminary timeline for the Physics Source. He has very interesting ideas regarding material display, particularly the connections between resources and adding links to PER-based information.

Newly Found Bugs
This is a new section for issues that came to my attention during the week.
- Caroline has had a problem cloning 2 items. I need to find which of the 200 fields that are copied in cloning caused the issue.
- Ann Deml found that our search appears to be case-sensitive. * This is very surprising as I thought I had put on the non-case sensitive switch. I'll have to look into this. ** I looked into this further. Our searches are case-sensitive only when the search term is entered in mixed case. For example, a search for zeus finds zeus, Zeus, or ZEUS; however, a search for Zeus finds only Zeus. I will talk with Bruce about whether this should be changed. *** We have decided to auto-lowercase all searches. This will remove some functionality, but most likely only remove some potential for confusion. Resolved
- Ted and Bruce get page errors if they leave a browser window open to Compadre but inactive for some time, then come back and try to do something. This seems to be limited to people doing administrative duties and a page refresh fixes the problem, so it has a lower priority. Resolved
